Over 27 years serving Houston and surrounding areas
From humble beginning of a one man shop to a full service contracting company. Giffen Electric started in the pool and hot tub wiring business. This led to landscape lighting with some jobs reaching $50,000.00 dollars. As time went by Giffen Electric Co L.C grew into a more commercially oriented field, providing service for many oil and gas related businesses along with new construction to the company. One of our most challenging jobs was the state run vehicle inspection stations. We teamed up with Melvin Electric and brought a total of 21 buildings ground up in 7 months, on time and on budget. Another project worthy of noting was the design of the new Phillips Services waste processing plant. We were instrumental in bringing this through the planning and permitting stages. We have currently completed a 4160 volt testing lab for Gaumer Process. We delivered a 480 volt 3 phase 500kva feeder to a 4160 volt pad mounted transformer and terminated into a 4160 volt control cabinet. We are 3m 5kv certified
We are Houston and Texas Proud We support limited government We support free enterprise philosophy
Bill Giffen
With roots dating back to the 1600's my family has been instrumental in shaping this great nation. After settling in Clarksdale Mississippi in the 1800's our family acquired a great deal of land and thus started Hopson Plantation. That entrepreneurial spirit has continued with Giffen Electric. Born in Clarksdale Miss, later moving to Houston Texas and growing up in the Northwest part of Houston attending Cy-Fair and Jersey Village High schools. Soon after high school I began work for an Electrical Contractor. I later bought the company and created my own business: Giffen Electric. I have since obtained my city masters license in Houston, Austin, Dallas, San Antonio, and approximately 40 smaller municipalities.
Married to Gayla Giffen RN/BSN, children Ashley and Zachary, raising my family in the heart of Spring Branch the last 26 years. I have been involved in the community through my Church and serving the Houston Police dept as one of the directors of Positive interaction program. I enjoy racing track bikes, teaching concealed handgun classes, and when time permits riding my Harley, roasting coffee and BBQ
